JAI: AI Chat and Journal · Last updated 19 June 2026

JAI ("JAI", "we", "us") is a private journaling companion. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it on our behalf, and the control you have over your data. We've tried to keep it plain. Questions: support@jaijournal.app.

What we collect

How we use it

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your journal content to advertise to you.

Who processes your data (subprocessors)

We use a small set of trusted providers strictly to run the service:

Each processes data only to provide its function to us, under its own terms.

Retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account exists. You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the app (left menu → account). Deletion erases your messages, the derived reflections, your knowledge graph, and your sign-in identity. This is immediate and irreversible. Backups, where they exist, age out on a rolling basis.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Access is scoped per user, and row-level security is enabled on our database so one account can never read another's data.

Children

JAI is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Your rights

You can access, export, correct or delete your data. The fastest route is in-app deletion; for anything else, email support@jaijournal.app.

Changes

We'll update this page and the "last updated" date when this policy changes.

JAI is a journaling companion for reflection and self-understanding. It is not a medical or mental-health service and is not a substitute for professional care.
