Terms of Service

JAI: AI Chat and Journal · Last updated 19 June 2026

By using JAI ("the app"), you agree to these terms. Please read them, along with our Privacy Policy.

JAI is not a medical or mental-health service. It is a journaling companion for reflection and self-understanding. It does not provide medical, psychological, or crisis advice and is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you are in crisis or may harm yourself, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line immediately (in the US, call or text 988).

Who can use JAI

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding agreement.

Your account

You sign in with Google or Apple. You're responsible for activity under your account. You can delete your account, and all associated data, at any time from within the app.

Your content

Your journal entries are yours. You grant us the limited permission needed to operate the service — to store your content, process it (including via our AI provider) to generate replies, reflections and your dashboard, and display it back to you. We don't sell it or use it to advertise to you.

Subscriptions

JAI offers auto-renewing subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID settings. Any free trial's unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Prices are shown in the app before purchase.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the app: no unlawful use, no attempts to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, and no use of it to harm others.

AI-generated content

JAI's replies and reflections are generated by AI and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Use your own judgment; don't rely on them as professional advice.

Disclaimers & liability

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for decisions made in reliance on the app's content.

Termination

You may stop using JAI and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are violated.

Changes

We may update these terms; we'll revise the "last updated" date. Continued use means you accept the changes.
